Activity description

The purpose of the activities of the OAS Project to Prevent Armed Violence, carried out by the Department of Public Security, included the realization of a diagnostic study to evaluate the implementation of the CIFTA, the organization of a regional round table on the penal typification of the illicit arms trade, the prevention of armed violence and the identification of possible opportunities to update national legislation and develop the necessary institutional capacities for implementation.

Project description

The objective of the Project to Prevent Armed Violence, carried out by the Department of Public Security, consisted in contributing to prevent and combat armed violence in the region through the development of institutional capacities, especially the normative frameworks that incorporate the typification of felonies and facilitate the effective implementation of the CIFTA.
