Activity description

The activities of the OAS Programme to Promote the Marking of Firearms in Latin America and the Caribbean, carried out by the Department of Public Security, have benefited 30 countries from the hemisphere with the provision of marking equipment, taking part in a regional workshop on marking practices and stockpile management, and developing a comprehensive study to identify the needs of the states in relation to marking.

Project description

The purpose of the Programme to Promote the Marking of Firearms in Latin America and the Caribbean was to strengthen national capacities for the marking of imported, exported or seized firearms, in line with the legal requirements of the CIFTA.
