Activity description

The United Nations Office in Drugs and Crime (UNODC) organized a regional seminar on legislative harmonisation and good practices for the implementation of the Firearms Protocol, held in Dakar, Senegal. The objective of the seminar was to provide an update and share experience in the implementation of the Firearms Protocol by the countries in the region based on a comparative legislative analysis of the domestic firearms legislation. A specific objective was to identify specific legislative development and technical assistance needs. The participants included government experts and representatives from the judiciary and civil society organizations from the countries in West Africa.
