Activity description

This workshop was organized by UNRCPD, in cooperation with the Government of Cambodia, and was made possible with financial support from the Government of Germany. It provided an opportunity to the ASEAN member states and Timor-Leste for a regional discussion on possible ways to address diversion and trafficking of small arms and light weapons and ammunition in South-East Asia. The workshop focussed on building capacity of national law enforcement and customs agencies to control arms transfers and prevent diversion through regional coordination and cooperation between these agencies. Additional expertise was provided by the ASEAN Association of Chiefs of Police secretariat, UNODC, the World Customs Organization and the ATT Secretariat.
