From 8 to 10 January 2020, the Permanent Secretariat of the High Authority for the Control of Imports of Weapons and Their Use (SP / HAClAU) organized a workshop on ATT implementation in Burkina Faso (in the in Dédougou and the Mouhoun loop region) with the financial support of the ATT Voluntary Trust Fund (ATT VTF). The workshop  covered the following topics: general information on the ATT and its main obligations; gender-based violence within the ATT framework; the prevention and the fight against the illicit trafficking of weapons; the ATT implementation process in Burkina Faso inclduing the ATT implementing law (object, purpose, scope); the role of civil society in ATT implementation; penalties; Burkina Faso's national arms transfer system and national ATT check lists.
