Participants represented CAR law enforcement agencies and the military. The training was conducted in the framework of Africa Amnesty Month activities, with funding from Japan through the UN Office for Disarmament Affairs.
The September Africa Amnesty Month campaign is being carried out in collaboration with the African Union and the United Nations office for disarmament (UNODA) with funding from the Federal Republic of Germany and the Government of Japan. The September Africa Amnesty month was declared in 2017 by the African Union within the framework of silencing the guns by 2020 initiative and adopted by African member states.
