UNODC Review of draft legislation in Mauritania

Activity description

In late 2014, United Nations Office in Drugs and Crime (UNODC) launched a collaborative exercise with the Government of Mauritania on the review of draft legislation related to anti-corruption, firearms trafficking, and organization and regulations of the judiciary. In July 2015, a technical session was organized in Nouakchott in which UNODC provided legal expertise and technical assistance in the matters of harmonization and legislative development on firearms. Discussions were also held with the Ministry of Interior and the Police on the establishment of a National Commission on SALW in Mauritania.
