Activity description

The purpose of this two-day workshop was to assist relevant Government ministries and agencies in enhancing national control of SALW in Myanmar and thereby the ability to further implement the provisions of the UN Programme of Action on the Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons and other international treaties and instruments relevant for the control of these arms. The workshop contributed to Myanmar’s renewed commitment and capacity to implement the UN Programme of Action to Prevent, Combat and Eradicate the Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons in All Its Aspects (PoA) and other related international instruments and guidelines, including the International Small Arms Control Standards (ISACS), the International Ammunition Technical Guidelines (IATG) and the International Tracing Instrument (ITI).
