ATT Network Third Regular Meeting: Options for an ATT Secretariat: A Preliminary Exchange of Views

Activity description

In order to provide a concrete input into the preparatory process of the first Conference of States Parties (CSP) regarding the structure, size, composition, and financing of the future ATT Secretariat, this meeting featured the presentation of a background paper outlining some options in this regard. The event also featured comments to the background paper as well as opening remarks by the Permanent Representative of the Mission of Mexico to the United Nations in Geneva. A number of representatives of African Permanent Missions in Geneva participated.

Project description

The ATT Network was launched in September 2013 by the Geneva Forum and GCSP. Since May 2015, it is composed of: the Centre on Conflict, Development and Peacebuilding (CCDP), the GCSP, Small Arms Survey, and UNIDIR. It acts as a platform to exchange information, elaborate and provide practical guidance on ATT implementation, build related capacities and implementation resources, develop networks among implementation actors and communities, and help states preparing for ATT follow-up meetings. The Network is inclusive, informal, and works through activities such as thematic public meetings, training workshops, working group discussions, and the production of implementation guidelines.
