ATT Regional Seminar for countries in East Asia and the Pacific

Activity description

As part of the project 'Supporting the Arms Trade Treaty Negotiations through Regional Discussions and Expertise Sharing', this regional seminar was organized by UNIDIR in order to support the preparatory process leading to the UN Conference on the ATT. It provided an opportunity for participants to discuss concrete recommendations on the elements of the future Treaty, and supported States in developing expertise to implement effective arms transfer controls.

Project description

The project 'Supporting the Arms Trade Treaty Negotiations through Regional Discussions and Expertise Sharing' consisted of a series of regional events organized by UNIDIR to support the negotiations on the future ATT. It sought to support an inclusive process and provide a platform for states to discuss concrete suggestions and recommendations on the elements of the treaty. The project also supported UN Member States in developing and enforcing national and regional arms transfer control systems.
