In close partnership with the Sub-Regional Arms Control Mechanism (SARCOM) and the Regional Centre for Small Arms (RECSA), BICC conducted a “Cross-Border Cooperation Workshop” for the SARCOM region from 9-10 May 2018 in Khartoum, Sudan. During the workshop, participants from the six SARCOM member states, i.e. Chad, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Libya, South Sudan and Sudan discussed current challenges and threats linked to illicit trafficking of small arms. They also  identified best practices and opportunities to increase joint border law enforcement cooperation within the region.
