From 30 June to 2 July 2020, the Permanent Secretariat of the High Authority for the Control of Imports of Weapons and Their Use (SP / HAClAU) organized a workshop on ATT implementation in Burkina Faso (in Gaoua / South-West region ) with the financial support of the ATT Voluntary Trust Fund (ATT VTF). The workshop covered the following topics: general information on the ATT and its main obligations; the prevention and the fight against the illicit trafficking of weapons; human rights provisions under the ATT; the ATT implementation process in Burkina Faso including the implementing legislation  (object, purpose, scope); the role of civil society in ATT implementation; penalties; national ATT control lists; the management of civilian weapons in Burkina Faso; the arms transfer system in Burkina Faso.
