High-level Meeting on Arms Marking in Togo

Activity description

As part of the UN Regional Centre for Peace and Disarmament (UNREC) Project supporting the Togolese National Commission on SALW, UNREC held an awareness raising campaign for the public and a high-level briefing for the Government to sensitize Togolese national decision makers on the importance and necessity of marking state owned arms.

Project description

UNREC's Project supporting the Togolese National Commission on SALW was aimed at assisting with the marking of civilian-held weapons in accordance with the ECOWAS Convention on Small Arms and Light Weapons, Their Ammunition and Other Related Materials, the Programme of Action to Prevent, Combat and Eradicate the Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons in All Its Aspects (UNPoA) and the International Tracing Instrument (ITI).
