Activity description

The UN Regional Centre for Peace and Disarmament in Africa (UNREC), in cooperation with the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL), the Liberian National Commission on SALW, and the Ghanaian National Commission on SALW provided technical assistance and training to Liberia on marking and registering small arms and light weapons. During the practical exercise of the training, weapons collected during the Liberia DDR programme were marked, registered and destroyed. The event took place in Monrovia. This assistance follows on an initial training in May 2014 on how to secure ammunition by using the IATG, which was also provided by UNREC and UNMIL.
