At the request of the US Defense Liaison Office in Sierra Leone, the US Defence Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) SALW Program conducted a Physical Security and Stockpile Management (PSSM) assessment of weapon and ammunition storage sites controlled by the Sierra Leone Armed Forces. The assessment objective was to compare and verify the ammunition and weapons slated for destruction against the list provided to the DTRA SALW team and to assess the condition of the weapons, ammunition, and storage facilities.
