From January to June 2013, UNMAS and UNSMIL, in partnership with the Misrata Military Council, conducted a series of physical security and stockpile management (PSSM) activities in Misrata, Libya, with the goal of addressing the risks stemming from arms and ammunition proliferation and unsafe storage. These activities included: constructing an ammunition storage facility in line with international best practices; safely relocating ammunitions to the facility; and strengthening the Misrata security forces’ capacity in ammunition management.
