This seminar was organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and Institute of Strategic and International Studies Malaysia, both to launch a survey on the status of the respect and awareness of the law of armed conflict and to discuss ways to generate respect for International Humanitarian Law (IHL). One topic was the tangible success of IHL implementation in the last decade, such as the Arms Trade Treaty, and how these existing international instruments can be used to promote respect for IHL.
