During this roundtable meeting in Burundi two topics were discussed. First, a brief presentation on the history of the ATT around the world and, second, the role of state parties in the ratification process. After a plenary discussion, the meeting ended with the formulation of recommendations. The roundtable was organised by the Centre d’Encadrement et de Développement des Anciens Combattants (CEDAC) and the Réseau d’Actions Paisibles des Anciens Combattants pour le Développement Intégré de tous au Burundi (RAPACODIBU) with financing from Control Arms. 43 participants took part, including representatives of government, religious groups, NGOs and the media.
