The AU-EU Steering Committee met with the following objectives: approving the interim report of phase 1 of the trans-regional small arms project managed by the Regional Center on Small Arms (RECSA) and coordinated under the auspices of the Africa Union; endorsing a baseline study on the fight against the illicit accumulation and trafficking of firearms in Africa conducted by the Groupe de recherche et d’information sur la paix et la sécurité (GRIP) and the Small Arms Survey (SAS); and, agreeing on the workplan for phase 2 of the project. The meeting was held in Nairobi, Kenya.
