In September 2013, the US Office of Security Cooperation in Nigeria and the SALW Program of the US's Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) conducted two physical security and stockpile management (PSSM) technical seminars for the Nigerian Navy and Nigerian Army. The seminars were a follow-up to an April 2011 assessment of Nigerian armed forces ordnance depots and focused on enhancing Nigeria's capacity to safely and securely store arms, ammunition, and explosives in accordance with international best practices.
