The workshop on ‘The Risks of the Proliferation of Small Arms and Light Weapons in Lebanon - Challenges and Opportunities’ was organized by the Permanent Peace Movement, with financial support received from the Government of Germany on 9 February 2014. Representatives of the Internal Security Forces, Public Security and a number of civil society activists took part at the event. As a result of the discussion, the workshop participants agreed to launch a national awareness network on the risks of small arms and light weapons after defining their vision and objectives and preparing the draft work.
