This regional meeting was organized by UNRCPD and hosted by the Government of the Philippines, with funding provided by the Governments of New Zealand and Switzerland. It provided an opportunity for senior-level officials to exchange views and discuss the Arms Trade Treaty in order to identify priority areas and common challenges for states from the Asia-Pacific region. External experts provided insights and information on legal issues, the various international assistance mechanisms and technical matters in several areas relevant to the states’ efforts to move towards signing and ratifying the ATT.
