The ECCAS Secretariat had organized a sub-regional meeting at which member States had held consultations prior to the Final United Nations Conference on the Arms Trade Treaty. The meeting had enabled member States to familiarize themselves with the draft text of the Treaty, as issued on 26 July 2012 at the conclusion of the UN Conference on the ATT held from 2 to 27 July 2012, and to work out the best strategy for ensuring that the representatives of member States would be able to reflect the interests of Central Africa in the final text of the Arms Trade Treaty. The event was held in Libreville, Gabon.
