During Fiscal Year 2012 the US Africa Command (USAFRICOM) continued its work with the Burundi humanitarian mine action (HMA) program, which began during the fall of 2010. Since then AFRICOM has conducted two to three missions per year with Burundian engineers in Bujumbura. These missions focused on explosive ordnance disposal (EOD), explosive remnants of war (ERW) operations, and stockpile reduction.
