Arias Foundation training with the Peruvian Foreign Ministry on the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT)

Activity description

On 20 February 2017, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Peru, in cooperation with the Arias Foundation for Peace and Human Progress of Costa Rica, held a workshop on the implementation of the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT), with the objective of strengthening the capacities of the national entities responsible for the application of the treaty in Peruvian territory. Representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of the Interior, the Armed Forces, the National Police of Peru, the National Superintendence of Control of Security Services, Weapons, Ammunition and Explosives for Civil Use (SUCAMEC), the National Intendancy of Customs Technique, among others, were trained on mechanisms of control and national regulation of conventional weapons, including ammunition, parts and components.
