CAMYOSFOP Capacity Building Workshop for legal affairs officers on the International Transfer System of Arms and Ammunitions and the Control and Management of Arms

Activity description

On 11 - 12 May 2018, CAMYOSFOP, in collaboration with legal affairs officers of relevant ministries, organised an ATT capacity-building workshop in Cameroon. The workshop, attended by twenty-five legal affairs officers working on the ATT process in Cameroon, aimed to identify the role of the participants in the implementation of the Arms Trade Treaty in the country. Particular attention was dedicated to the International Transfer Systems of Arms and Ammunitions and to the Control and Management of arms in Cameroon.

Project description

For the year 2018, the ATT Voluntary Trust Fund (VTF) approved the project 'Fast Tracking the Universalization and implementation of the ATT in Cameroon' to be implemented by CAMYOSFOP in 2018. The project aimed to organise workshops for Government Ministries, Parliamentarians and journalists to fast-track the universalization of the Arms Trade Treaty in Cameroon.
