CCCPA Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration Training for NARC Components 2015
As part of the training modules provided by the CCCPA, a five day training course took place on 13-17 December 2015. The training course for the components of the North African Regional Capacity (NARC) of the African Standby Force (ASF), consisted of exercises and group work. The topics addressed were disarmament, demobilization and reintegration (DDR), AU peacekeeping operations, reconciliation procedures, African peace and security challenges, small arms and light weapons (SALW) and women in peace and security.
The Cairo International Centre for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding (CCCPA) provides training modules of capacity-building to diplomats, military and police personnel, parliamentarians, media representatives and NGOs. CCCPA also support peacekeeping missions in Africa. The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs founded the CCCPA in 1997. The training was conducted under the North African Regional Capacity (NARC) project which was established in 2007 for the African Standby Force (ASF) to coordinate regional components in North Africa.
