Conventional Weapons Disposal and Physical Security and Stockpile Management by the Halo Trust in Somalia during FY13

Activity description

During Fiscal Year 2013 the Office of Weapons Removal and Abatement in the US Department of State's Bureau of Political-Military Affairs (PM/WRA) funded work by the Halo Trust on Conventional Weapons Disposal (CWD) and Physical Security and Stockpile Management (PSSM) in Somaliland. The HALO Trust supported humanitarian mine clearance and MANPADS stockpile reduction projects as well as PSSM improvements, surveyed and re-surveyed suspected hazardous areas, and conducted mine risk education in Somaliland. In total, the US State Department provided $3.92 million for Conventional Weapons Disposal (CWD) in Somalia during Fiscal Year 2013.
