During Fiscal Year 2013 the US Department of State funded work by Mines Advisory Group (MAG) in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). MAG deployed weapons and ammunition destruction teams and destroyed 10,000 SALW and 75 tons of surplus, unstable, at-risk, and obsolete munitions in North and South Kivu provinces. In total, the US government contributed $1 million for Conventional Weapons Disposal (CWD) in the DRC during Fiscal Year 2013.
