During Fiscal Year 2013 U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) deployed military explosive ordnance disposal personnel to Mozambique to conduct Explosive Remnants of War (ERW) disposal training. This included instruction in ERW education and risk reduction, first responder medical training with an emphasis on blast trauma injuries, conventional munitions stockpile assessments and training, and program assessments. The total costs of the activity were $440,000 which were covered by Overseas Humanitarian, Disaster, and Civic Aid appropriation.
