Activity description

The sub-regional seminar was part of the project 'ATT Implementation Support Measures', which was financed by the Federal Foreign Office of Germany and implemented by the German Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA). The project aimed to support the implementation of the Arms Trade Treaty and offered neighbouring countries a platform to exchange experience and best practice, while it also aimed to facilitate the identification of common needs and challenges. During the seminar, several provisions were highlighted as challenges including transit/transshipment, import controls, inter-agency cooperation and reporting. In addition the participants underlined that further international support during the implementation process will be essential and desirable. The seminar was held in Eschborn, Germany.
