During Fiscal Year 2013 the Office of Weapons Removal and Abatement in the US Department of State's Bureau of Political-Military Affairs (PM/WRA) funded work by the Mine Advisory Group (MAG) on Physical Security and Stockpile Management (PSSM) in Niger. MAG improved Niger’s PSSM capability, carried out destruction activities, and completed security and safety improvements to Nigerien stockpiles. In total, the US State Department provided $2 million for conventional weapons destruction and PSSM in the Sahel region during Fiscal Year 2013.
