Activity description

The Commission of the African Union (AU) in collaboration with the UN Regional Center for Peace and Disarmament in Africa (UNREC) organised a training course on identification and tracing of SALW and their ammunition for Member States of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS). The training course enabled Member States officials to better implement the International Tracing Instrument (ITI) as well as the Kinshasa Convention upon its entry into force through improving skills in the accurate identification and tracing of SALW. The training was supported by experts from the UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) and Conflict Armament Research (CAR).
