Training on SALW Marking (ITI Implementation) in Niger

Activity description

UNREC partnered with the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in providing marking machines to the National Commission for the Collection and Control of Illicit Arms in Niger. UNREC also provided training for national authorities on SALW marking and registration based on the International Tracing Instrument (ITI). In the context of South-South collaboration, the National Commission of Côte d'Ivoire shared their experiences in marking.

Project description

In the framework of the EU Council Decision in support of activities of UNODA to implement the UN PoA (Council Decision 2011/428/CFSP of 18 July 2011) support was provided to states to achieve full and effective implementation of the International Tracing Instrument (ITI) and the International Ammunition Technical Guidelines (IATG).
