Activity description

The purpose of the XXIV Meeting of MERCOSUR's Working Group on Firearms and Ammunition (GTAM, for its initials in Spanish) was to discuss progress on the UN 2001 PoA on SALW and the potential for regional harmonization of firearms marking codes to facilitate tracing. In this meeting, the nomenclature used by Argentina, at the national level, to mark firearms, was proposed as a starting point for regional harmonization.
