Descripción de la actividad

CAR, in collaboration with the ECOWAS Commission, is supporting SALW control authorities in Nigeria and Burkina Faso to develop systems to (1) document seized, found or surrendered weapons and ammunition to common standards; (2) use international tracing mechanisms, including the ECOWAS Convention Article 19 tracing mechanism, to identify sources and diversion points of illicit SALW. The tools, templates and standard operating procedures developed by the project will be available in English and French for potential adoption by other ECOWAS Member States.
