As part of the project ‘Building Capacities on Arms Control in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Region’, the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP) organized an executive education course in Geneva on 10-14 July, 2017, with funding provided by the Government of Switzerland. The course was attended by 13 officials, diplomats and military officers from Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Libya, Morocco, Qatar, State of Palestine, Saudi Arabia and Tunisia, and the Swiss Defence Attaché in Jordan. The course provided an opportunity for the participants to discuss international arms control, non-proliferation and disarmament instruments, as well as international regimes for the control of weapons of mass destruction and conventional weapons. The course also addressed international humanitarian law and specific security challenges affecting the MENA region.
