Third Meeting of the Steering Committee of the ECOWAS-EU Small Arms Project
The aim of the Third Meeting of the ECOWAS-EU Small Arms Project was to evaluate the implementation of the project in 2015 and to assess the progress made so far on the approved project work plan.
The ECOWAS-EU Small Arms Project is an integral component of the programme, 'EU Support to the ECOWAS Peace, Security and Stability' mandate which seeks to support ECOWAS in its capacity to effectively address factors of instability and reinforce a proactive approach to peace-building, conflict prevention and resolution in West Africa. The project will run from 2014 to 2017 and will be implemented by UNDP's respective country offices to coordinate implementation in close coordination with the National Commission of Small Arms in the 6 selected countries categorized within the Mano River Union and the Sahel.
