Field Research in Savannes Region of Togo
As part of the project to support the Togolese National Commission on SALW, the UN Regional Centre for Peace and Disarmament in Africa (UNREC) carried out research in the Savannes region of Togo regarding the proliferation of SALW and artisanal weapons.
UNREC's Project supporting the Togolese National Commission on SALW was aimed at assisting with the marking of civilian-held weapons in accordance with the ECOWAS Convention on Small Arms and Light Weapons, Their Ammunition and Other Related Materials, the Programme of Action to Prevent, Combat and Eradicate the Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons in All Its Aspects (UNPoA) and the International Tracing Instrument (ITI).
