Expert training workshop on the use of MOSAIC modules on the implementation of the Kinshasa Convention

Activity description

On 21 March 2019 CAMYOSFOP organised a workshop in Cameroon aiming at training local experts on the use of MOSAIC guidelines. The workshop, attended by experts from the Ministries of External Relations, the Ministry of Defense, the General Delegation of National Security and the National Commission on Human rights and Freedoms of Cameroon, provided the participants with details on the MOSAIC guidelines, the National Coordinating Mechanism on Small Arms and Light Weapons Control, procedures for the implementation of national Action Plans on the UNPOA and the Kinshasa Convention. Furthermore, the need to include the Gender Dimension in National Action Plans was also underscored.

Project description

From January to December 2019, CAMYOSFOP - with the financial support of UNSCAR – implemented a project on “strengthening the technical and operational capacities of 7 state parties to the KINSHASA convention on SALW on the use of MOSAIC for the creation of NATCOMS, elaboration of NAPs and the SALW nature of women and youth”. The main objective of the project was to organize capacity strengthening workshops with key Government Officials on the creation of NATCOMs and elaboration of National Action Plans on SALW.
