Activity description

On 24-25 September 2019, as part of the "Multi-stakeholder dialogue: Parliamentary action on the 2030 Agenda – SALW control in the MENA region with a global outlook"  PFSALW organised a capacity building seminar, whose aim was to, through policy dialogue and debate, enhance parliamentary action on uncontrolled SALW related violence, and maximise synergies between the 2030 Agenda, the United Nations Programme of Action to Prevent, Combat and Eradicate the Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons in All Its Aspects (UN PoA), Women, Peace and Security and Youth, Peace and Security and their respective UN Security Council resolutions (UNSCR) 1325 and 2250. Through multi-stakeholder policy dialogue, the meeting objective was to improve compliance and increase universalisation of international SALW control instruments through parliamentary action, with a specific focus on women and youth in peace and security
