UNIDIR organizes ATT Regional Seminar for countries in the Americas and the Caribbean in Uruguay

Activity description

The purpose of the regional seminar was to support the preparatory process leading to the UN Conference on the ATT and ensure concrete recommendations on the elements of the Treaty. The seminar also aimed to support States in the Americas and the Caribbean develop expertise to implement effective arms transfer controls.

Project description

The project, Supporting the Arms Trade Treaty Negotiations through Regional Discussions and Expertise Sharing, consisted of a series of regional events organized in different parts of the world to support the negotiations on the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) and ensure that the process is as inclusive as possible and that states will be able to make concrete suggestions and recommendations on the elements of the Treaty. It also supported States in developing and improving their national and regional arms transfer controls systems.
