Civil Weapon Marking in Togo

Activity description

As part of the United Nations Regional Centre for Peace and Disarmament in Africa's (UNREC) assistance to the Togolese National Commission on SALW, UNREC supported the Togolese NatCom in marking a total of 5,711 civilian-owned small arms in different regions of Togo.

Project description

UNREC's Project supporting the Togolese National Commission on SALW was aimed at assisting with the marking of civilian-held weapons in accordance with the ECOWAS Convention on Small Arms and Light Weapons, Their Ammunition and Other Related Materials, the Programme of Action to Prevent, Combat and Eradicate the Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons in All Its Aspects (UNPoA) and the International Tracing Instrument (ITI).
