In addition, UNLIREC has been invited to participate in different national and international fora on small arms control held in Peru.
UNLIREC wide assistance to SUCAMEC as the national entity responsible for small arms control in Peru aims at strengthening national capacities to integrate the International Small Arms Control Standards (ISACS) and the International Ammunition Technical Guidelines (IATGs) as cross-cutting issues within small arms control measures and initiatives. The focus of this assistance is also to support Peru's efforts to implement the Programme of Action to Prevent, Combat and Eradicate the Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons in All Its Aspects (UN 2001 PoA).
